"My heart has heard you say,
'Come and talk with me',
and my heart responds,
'Lord, I am coming.'"
Psalm 27:8
Conversations In The Garden: I try to go daily into the garden of my heart to spend time with Jesus. For me this means closing my eyes and visualizing a garden where I meet with our Lord and talk. You can read about that HERE.
Recently I went into the garden to chat with Jesus and could not find Him anywhere. I looked in the usual places~ near the bench, the lilac bushes, the vineyard, the path we walk on......but no Jesus!
Finally I called out~
Where
are
you
Jesus?
Jesus answered from far away
I am over here
Right where
you put
Me
today.
His response took my breath away. Oh, it was so true......I had been worrying ever since I opened my eyes that morning. So busy thinking about how I was feeling and what was ahead for the day. I was trying to control what was going on without taking it to God. Yes, where was Jesus that morning? Right where I had put Him~ off to the side.
~~
Forgive
Forgive
me
Lord
Too often we waste precious time worrying. It is as if we think by worrying we can control a situation. Or maybe it is what I read a couple of weeks ago~worrying keeps us alert to our cirumcstances when we are feeling unsafe. Whatever the reasons, God promises that He is with us always. He is in control~ He keeps us safe. "Do not be afraid" "Fear not" He tells us, along with the familiar verses in Matthew that tell us not to worry about what we will wear, eat or drink. Our Heavenly Father is there for us!Our Savior's gentle reminder that morning was such a blessing for me. It put me right back where I needed to be, walking through my day WITH Jesus. A good place to be living. The only place to be living!
I am linking up to Spiritual Sundays today. Stop over and visit Charlotte, read other posts or link up your own.

Love these posts! Thank-you so much for sharing them. Reminds me that I need to start my day with Jesus, every day!
God bless you.
Oh Renee, thank you for reminding me of what I'm doing... putting so many things first---especially worry!
I will try harder to remind myself that I need to start with God and let the day take care of itself.
Blessings!
Renee, this reminds me a lot of Ordering Your Private World by Gordon McDonald. I just read that book, and he talks about meeting with God in the inner garden. I have been so bad about worrying and stressing since last summer, and it really has been affecting my walk with Jesus. Just Wednesday He asked me to stay home and meet with Him and I can't tell you how refreshing it was. What a reboot! I said a prayer for you today and hope that you will be worry free and have a great weekend!
I'm guilty of worrying too, especially when circumstances are stressful. The Holy Spirit has been showing me how my worrying dishonors God because it reveals a lack of faith in His providence.
Our job each day is simply to trust in the Lord, and trust that his will for our lives holds a perfect plan. No easy task but with faith and prayer we can do it.
I am so guilty of the same thing. What a good reminder to me. And what a great visual.
Blessings to you sweet friend.
Ginny
HI Renee....I got to remember too to go to HIm first thing and not try to figure stuff out on my own. When He's in the picture....there's incredible peace. When I do it on my own...it's easy to get frustrated. Wishing you a beautiful day.
I needed to hear this message today about worrying. It's a sin that I struggle with. But he will keep me safe. I want to rest more in that thought. Thanks, Renee, for sharing your beautiful garden story with us.
What a blessing that you shared this with us. I'm sure many of us can relate. Probably all of us can relate. I like the garden image.
Blessings,
Charlotte
A much needed reminder - especially for a worrier like me!

Hi Elaine
I think we all spend time worrying...human nature and all. Just greateful God is so patient!
I will need to look up that book Kim. It sounds interesting. Always enjoy your posts on Hope, dear. God bless.
Yes, Virginia....it really is important that we trust God each and every day. Worrying is not something God wants and it does distract us from Him, but He is forgiving. Thankfully!!
Thanks dear Ginny.....Bless you too dear friend.
Taking it to the Lord is so important Sarah...I too, often try to do it myself, figure it all out, make things happen etc.
You are very welcome Lisa...glad you enjoyed this garden story. It was one that really spoke to me when it happened!
Thanks Charlotte and thanks for stopping by. Bless you!
Thanks for coming by Gayle...
