Spiritual Sundays

Lately I have been spending quiet time with my Lord and visualizing a garden where I go to sit quietly and wait for God to speak with me. The first time this happened the words "be content" came to mind but I did not want to hear them. I was not content with our current situation and wanted things to change. The second time I heard the words, "Be willing".......Willing, Lord? Willing to be, to do, what Lord? Willing to be content? Today as I visualized sitting in the garden the words that came to mind were..."be silent".

I think know what God is trying to tell me. I need to be content with our circumstances, be willing to let God's plan unfold before us, and accept our tomorrows ...but God, this is not what I had planned! Be silent.

And with the words, be content, be willing, and be silent, Psalm 46:10 comes to mind:

"Be still and know that I am God."

How beautiful to visualize a garden. I know God is speaking to me a lot on being still and being content lately. I'm still not used to slowing down and I really need to in both body and mind for health reasons, but also so that I can listen to what God might have to say. I enjoyed this gentle reminder. Wishing you a beautiful Sunday.

Living in such troublesome times it is difficult to be content. We can't be content about the mess we are in but we can learn to be quiet and listen to Him and let Him be in control. Thanks for posting.

How wonderful to understand what the Lord wants of us, but how easy in this hurry up world we live in to say later. Even to our Lord. How sad for us. Now we know why our Lord cried.
Hopeing for you some slow time. Carol

So many times what we plan for our lives is not what God plans. I've discovered his plans are always better than mine though. I just need to trust Him.
I love the autumn too. It is my favorite time of year. I have actually passed the autumn of my life. I think I'm in the winter now but I also love the winter.
I'm so glad you chose to join us for Spiritual Sundays today.
Have a great week.

Hi Jan Lyn
I do enjoy this new way of becoming still before God. It has been very revealing for me and peaceful.

Hi Clif
For me contentment means finding a sense of peace within myself that keeps the craziness of the world outside. Keeping my focus on God.

Renee, your post reminds me of the planting of seeds.
It seems to me that God is sowing seeds into your life - it will be a good and beautiful harvest, I just know it.
Blessings,
Malva
