Saturday's Scribbles

Good Saturday to you all from our corner of Iowa where the grass is getting green, flowers are coming up, and the warmer temperatures are visiting periodically.  Friday it was near 70 and we will be in the low 60's this weekend.

Speaking of Friday, Joel and I went shopping in search of porch furniture but so far nothing has caught our eye.  Love wicker, but can't find a style and price we would love, too.  We stopped in at Kohls and at the check-out Joel handed me two separate coupons to use.  I never looked at them, just handed them over to the clerk who looked at one and said..."Shopko?  Are you trying to use a Shopko coupon in here?"  She laughed and said loudly, "We gotta watch these two from now on".  I was so embarrassed.....but not Joel.  I did laugh and say, "It is the guy in the cowboy hat you have to watch.  HE gave me the coupon...."

Later Joel went to the grocery store and noticed a product called "Crapola" which  is made in Ely, Minnesota.  On the bag it said, " Made with cranberries, apples, and granola. It makes even weird people regular"!  Leave it to Joel.....we did have a good laugh over it.  Those laughs keep us going when life is challenging, confusing, or unpredictable.

Speaking of laughter, tomorrow is Holy Laughter Sunday at church.  People are to bring their church appropriate jokes and share and Joel's sermon will  be based on it.  Today was a luncheon, bake sale, and more at the church.  We had a nice time visiting with several people including our old neighbors from the neighborhood we lived in before this one.  They are the nicest people.

I signed us up this week to attend a Healing conference at Charis Bible College in Woodland Park, CO in August.  We are excited about this one since we have watched their teachings online and taken 3 of their correspondence courses during the past 2 years.  We will be going through the course they teach on being a healing minister and then hearing several good speakers in the evenings.  Should be wonderful in such a beautiful location.  To top it off we hope to see our grandson who lives in the Denver area and maybe an old friend from our Bible college days.

We are enjoying a few walks by the river and Joel has been able to get part of the yard raked and one bike ride in this past week.

I have been reading the same books and watching a few teachings and the same ol' TV shows.  Anything new going on in your corner of the world?

Until next time...........

Our corner of the world is greening up a bit here too, but our temperatures are still cold. When I stop and really take notice, things are slowly changing here...each day brings a little more color. Just like my health...little positive changes. (o;

I love that idea of Holy Laughter Sunday! I sometimes don't think that I laugh enough! My youngest son sent me a photo of his beagle the other day. He had *dressed* him up while he was sleeping. I laughed so hard I had tears in my eyes. It was a good, good thing.

Here's to the God who gave us a sense of humor!!

GOD BLESS!
