Every Praise!

Today we went to the church to walk.  It is only 38 degrees out and the winds are strong so a nature walk was out of the question.  With everything being set up in the gymnasium for a rummage sale this weekend, we walked 35 minutes around the sanctuary.  As we sang to Hezekiah Walker on my phone, we could not help but smile.  His simple song, "Every Praise" lightened the mood and had us oldsters moving and a grooving with every step.

Every Praise is to our Lord
Every word of worship with one accord
Every praise every praise is to our Lord.
Sing hallelujah to our God
Glory hallelujah is due our God
Every praise every praise is to our God

God my Savior
God my Healer
God my Deliverer
Every praise is to our God
Every word of worship with one accord
Every praise, every praise is to our God
Just this week I heard a story about a nine year old in Atlanta who was kidnapped.  The kidnapper drove around with him in the car for hours.  This young boy was very frightened so he sang over and over again Hezekiah Walker's song, "Every Praise".  The kidnapper eventually stopped the car and pushed the boy out unharmed.  Only God!
We know there is power in the name of Jesus.  We know that death and life are in the power of the tongue.  Here is a great example of the power held in our words.  This young boy found comfort in the familiar song he heard at church.  This song, some how reached deep inside and touched this kidnapper, stopping him from committing a terrible act of evil.  Only God!

Nearly every day I put on music.  I enjoy praise music the most as it gets me moving and lifts my spirits.  It helps me to put my focus where it belongs.....on Jesus.  I am sure every time I sing and dance to "Every Praise" I will be giving thanks for a nine year old boy who is able to be home with his family after such a terrible ordeal.  Only God!
