Letting Go and Getting On

It is the last day of the year...2008 ~ my goodness! I remember when I waited for 2000 and wondered if we really would have some kind of chaos as was predicted...it did not happen. And here we are looking at 2009 already! Before we welcome a new year, I think it is a good time to let go...let go of past resentments, let go of the guilt we may hold on to, let go of disappointments and lost expectations.
"Today is a good day to accept God's forgiving grace for mistakes and shortcomings of the past year and get on with life"~ I just read these words today in a devotional and they seemed to go right along with my posts on forgiveness and resentments. Think how free we will be when we enter a new year without carrying those heavy burdens of guilt and resentment. A fresh start!
I like fresh starts!
May your final day of 2008 be one of peace.

Renee,
I'm so glad that I found your blogs. They are full of wisdom and I like this about starting a new year by letting go. I so often let go of the past and then drag it all back up again. This was a good reminder for me.
Thank you!

hello Jan Lyn
I am glad that you were able to be "reminded" of letting go. I often find what I write is what I need to hear! Good reminders for me also.
God bless
