Continually Pouring

"I can do all things through Christ who continually pours His strength into me"

Philippians 4:13
(paraphrased)

This is one of my favorite verses, shared with me by one of my online friends.  I find great comfort in knowing that God is giving me His strength to do all things.

Just what does the word continually mean?  Webster's Dictionary defines it as "going on without interruption...unbroken."  And to pour?  "To cause to flow in a continuous stream.....to flow freely."

What a powerful gift for us.  Christ's strength ~ His OWN strength flowing freely in a continuous stream without interruption into us, His children.  Unbroken flow.

Oh, Lord, let us never take this for granted.  Let us never forget that when we feel weak and unable to keep moving forward, we are not alone on our journey. You have given us this precious promise ~ this amazing and powerful blessing.  Lord, having this knowledge, let us always call upon you and open our arms wide to receive your strength...continually...freely.   In Your name, Amen.

You background is GORGEOUS! Wow! Love it!

I have that verse paraphrased exactly like that. I love the visual of God constantly pouring his strength and grace into me like a constant river.

That is one of my favorite verses actually.

I recieve the prayer too. I acutally had a high school friend prayer for me via text last week and this power just flooded my spirit man. I could see her stumped over, weary, wornout, down-trodden and then when the power from the prayer came, she threw her shoulders back, chin up, and was fortified in her spirit and mind. I tell you, it was powerful.

I have been 'flying' above my physical circumstances ever since.

P. S. It probably helps that I have read almost all of the NT this week as well, huh! ;-)

Love you! Say hi to Joel!

Yes, this is such a powerful gift. I have such a hard time understanding why some people choose not to take his gift, and choose not to love Him.
Thank-you for sharing this scripture today.
Blessings,
Ginger

Hi Renee,

Thank you for sharing these comforting words of encouragement. It is good to remind myself that even when I feel so powerless in the face of difficulties, the Lord is pouring His strength into me; a strength far greater than I could ever muster, freely flows from Him to me.

I don't want to take the Lord for granted, or forget this truth.

Blessings and peace.

Poured strength. What a beautiful mind picture that brought to me. I've tucked it away to think about when my strenth wanes.

Finding strength in Him,
