"Be still and know that I am God"
Psalm 46:10
In today's world, it is often difficult to find time to be still. Truth be told, we are not always comfortable with stillness, and yet God's word encourages us to do so. I believe that God created us with the need for our spiritual, physical, emotional, and mental health to take the time to be still.
I am not talking about the yearly vacation we take, or even plunking down in front of the TV at the end of a long day. I am talking about daily sitting in silence, listening for the voice of God, reflecting on God and our life, and truly resting.
When worry or busyness fill our minds, it would do us good to take a moment to be still, and know. Know that God is God. Know that He is with us. Know that he delights in talking with us. Know Him.
When you come to that place of peaceful stillness, remember. Remember what God has done for you in the past. Remember how He has taken care of you. How He has the best plans for your life...Loves you deeply. Remember how he was there when things looked dark...or darn right scary. Remember how he walked you through a storm....remember how he carried you when you no longer could walk. Remember His faithfulness.
Be still......Know......Remember......

Beautiful, reassuring post Renee.
Oh Renee Sweetie...
What a gorgeous share this evening. I love it. It makes me happy to know that there are others out there having those be still, know and remember moments. Your Christianity just shines sweet friend. It just shines through in your writings.
I spend every morning on my drive into work talking to God. It is my be still, know and remember moment. It is my quiet time when I remember all in prayer, ask for guidance for the day. It starts my day off wonderfully and makes me feel full and my heart "Happy".
On my way home, I ask for forgiveness for anything that I may have done or anyone I may have hurt, and not even realized it. I always remember to ask. It makes my evening much happier.
Of course I close my night as well when I lay down at night. Yep every day 3 times a time, I have my be still, know and remember time with God. Thank you for the beautiful share sweet friend. Many hugs and much love, Sherry
So true, Renee. Nothing can compare with sitting quietly in His presence.
Oh Renee, that is beautiful! Thank you for those reassuring words of truth!
God Bless you always,
Elaine
I couldn't post to your comment on my post for some reason? I wanted to thank you for your words and I would be privilaged to have you call me friend. I appreciate your directing me back to the Rock-Jesus. I was having a really bad day yesterday. I can't believe I actually posted those things.... I am doing better today. Thanks for your encouragement and support.
Hi Renee,
I look forward to those quiet times when I seek to be in the presence of God; to be still and know that He is.
You're right, it is good to remember what God has done in times past...He is still the same God.
Blessings and peace.

Yes, there is something about being still...before we can know, before He will speak, before He can wrap us in His presence. We must be still.
thank you for this encouraging reminder....and sending you a ton of good wishes for a great weekend...
Beautiful reminder, Renee. It isn't easy to just be still in our busy world. It is so important though. Thank you for sharing these encouraging words.
Blessings,
Charlotte
This is good, Renee. I definitely need times of stillness far more than on a vacation or special occasion.
This post touched my heart deeply as I find being still, quiet and listening to be so healing. Thanks for the reminder that it is also good for a case of the worries;) At times I think it is my best medicine really....
Sending love on this memorial weekend.
Jan Lyn
beautiful reminder. thanks for stopping by to encourage me. =)
Love this. Such a comfort to rest in Him.
I love the "and remember." Sometimes I'm still in the moment, but fail to remember those precious times. Journaling helps me as I can go back and remember. When I read about the past I find myself more willing to sit in silence and listen.
Blessings,
Pamela
Renee, this is so true! When I start out my day with my quiet time things always go smoother... not perfect, but smoother.
It is hard sometimes to not jump into the "busyness" of life.
Blessings,
Annette
