Hope In The Lord

It has been a rough week for me due to the herbal antibiotics I am taking causing a lot of die off of Lyme bacteria. This die off leaves behind toxins that greatly increase symptoms. After an emotional meltdown last Monday, I turned to my Bible for support. My Bible fell open midway, to Isaiah 40 and this underlined verse ~#31~caught my attention.

"Those who hope in the Lord
will soar on wings like eagles
they will run and not grow weary
they will walk and not faint."
~
I found a great deal of comfort in repeating this verse out loud throughout the morning. Later while reading a devotional these verses popped up, and when I went online to read a few blogs, I came across one from Spiritual Sundays that started with this same verse. The title of the post was "Don't Quit". Isn't God wonderful! You see, I was ready to quit the treatment due to the horrible all over neuropathy/nerve pain from die off. Reading this post and the scripture above gave me courage to keep going. I found hope that the suffering would eventually end and I would not feel weary.
~
Sometimes we find ourselves in a situation that brings us to our knees and we wonder if we have the strength to keep going. We don't. Not by ourselves. But God does have what we need, and His strength is available for us at our asking. When we trust God and put our hope in Him, we WILL soar on wings like eagles. What a great promise He has given us!!

I’m sorry you’ve had a rough week, Renee. I had a meltdown on Monday, too. Sigh. I guess we don’t outgrow those after all?

I love the verse that you used. Such a comfort. I am so on my knees right now over multiple situations; I either go on with His strength or I don’t go on at all. I’m glad He is so faithful and strong.

I will pray for you--I believe that our own prayers, as well as the prayers of others can and do make a difference...And I love that scripture. I have a friend who also had to deal with neuropathy (for different reasons) and remember well how much she hurt - praying for you much!

Isn't it a blessing when we find encouraging Bible verses and read them out loud? There are several in Isaiah that I love doing that with as well, including Isaiah 41: 10.

I love your blog name and decor - in large part because I also LOVE AUTUMN best too - and it's coming soon! :) :) :)

Blessings to you!

I don't know much about lyme disease. I have heard of it, of course, but never knew anyone who had it. I'm glad you received comfort in the ways you explained. God is good. I know your sharing your experiences will help others.
Prayers and blessings,
Charlotte

I am just catching up on your blog now and sorry to hear about your rough time. As usual, your blog is encouraging though and speaking Truth to your readers. That verse is so special to me as well--it is sewn on the cover of one of my favorite bibles here.
Feel better, I pray.
